Life rarely comes in a neat, pristine package. More often it`s a bit of a mess, with pain and struggle knit into every fibre. I used to see my life this way. Bruised and broken, shattered and torn, I hid my shame and pain beneath an unblemished plastic smile. But through time and healing, I have learned that the tattered pieces can be stitched back together, revealing a raw, untamed beauty that far surpasses the naive perfection of what I had been.
This realization, this epiphany of broken beauty, is the inspiration for my collection. Using only natural fibres, these gowns are not perfect, idealistic expressions. They are the stitched-together remnants of what has been, displaying the potential for what can be when we accept brokenness as an essential ingredient of true beauty. The unfinished edges, unexpected combinations of texture and pattern, and clean lines all express this unique aesthetic. In contrast, the floral elements throughout the collection reflect the untouched sweetness of nature, adding a touch of whimsy and fun.
